Project Overview
Cadbury Signature Pralines is a premium chocolate collection designed to elevate the gifting experience through luxurious form, material detail, and tactile delight. As the Industrial Designer on the project, I led the ideation and development of the praline shapes and proposed packaging concepts that aligned with Cadbury’s visual language while differentiating it within the premium chocolate category.

Design Intent
The goal was to design pralines that looked indulgent even before tasting them. The shapes required a clear personality — sculptural, memorable, and capable of reflecting Cadbury’s premium identity. Each form was crafted to create anticipation: smooth contours that suggest richness, contrasting surfaces that play with light, and geometries that stand out in a gift box arrangement.
Form Development
explored multiple chocolate morphologies through sketching and 3D CAD. The challenge was to balance:
-
Distinct visual identity (recognizable piece shapes)
-
Manufacturability (considering moulding and demoulding behavior)
-
Texture and bite experience (surface detailing and curvature)
Iterations were tested for shape clarity after coating, clean edge formation, melting behavior, and premium perception. The final family of forms blends organic softness with faceted accents, ensuring every piece looks crafted, not mass-produced.

Packaging Ideation
The packaging strategy focused on enhancing the unboxing ritual. My concepts explored:
-
Reusable rigid boxes for premium gifting
-
Multi-layer reveals for a sense of occasion
-
Window-less packaging to elevate mystery and discovery
-
Optimized cavity trays to hold each praline securely
Material and finish options included matte laminates, foil accents, textured paper, and deeper Cadbury purple tones to communicate luxury without being loud.

Outcome & Impact
The final design provided Cadbury with a premium aesthetic direction combining sculpted chocolate architecture and refined gifting cues. The visual richness, tactile quality, and cohesive packaging helped the product stand apart from standard boxed chocolates and better align with luxury confectionery brands.
